The FJDDRC Mission
The mission of the Fourth Judicial District Drug Recovery Court is to fully utilize the authority of the Court and the synergy of a multi-disciplinary team to provide the greatest opportunity for recovery from addiction of local chemically-dependant, non-violent offenders through effective treatment and supervision, thereby increasing public safety, reducing crime and its costs, and restoring individuals to their families, workplaces, and communities.
The Drug Recovery Court Program

Serves individuals in Cocke, Grainger, Jefferson, and Sevier counties

Reduces drug use by participants thru frequent/random testing
-
Reduces drug-related crimes by program participation
-
Reduces the costs to tax payers for extended incarceration

Provides immediate sanctions for program noncompliance

Provides positive reinforcement from the Judge and Drug Recovery Court team members to program participants for achieving certain goals

Provides participants with intensive supervision and monitoring
-
Provides participants with alternatives to their current lifestyles by offering supervision, treatment, education, counseling, and goal setting
The program’s Director oversees all the activities of the Drug Recovery Court and coordinates the efforts of the Drug Recovery Court Team – Circuit Court Judge, District Attorney, Public Defender, Treatment Counselors, Probation Officers, Law Enforcement, and Drug Court staff – in order to ensure effective communication and program consistency.
